How long do you cook Tater Tots in an Airfryer?
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Preparation time: none
Ingredients
• 500g frozen tater tots
• Cooking oil for spray
• ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
• ¼ teaspoon salt
How to Make Air Fryer Tater Tots
1. Preheat the air fryer to 400F. This is very important. If you don’t preheat the air fryer, the tater tots would take longer time to fry. And they won’t be crispy either.
2. In the meantime spray the tater tots with cooking oil. You can use olive oil, sunflower oil, or avocado oil.
3. Place the tater tots on the frying basket evenly. Fry for 15 minutes.
4. Make sure to shake the basket two to three times while cooking. This step is crucial to have great tater tots. Shaking the tater tots helps them to cook evenly.
5. Some people like to have their tater tots crispier than usual. If you are like them, fry the tater tots for additional 3 to 4 minutes. But don’t overdo it.
6. Toss the tater tots with salt and pepper. You can also use black salt instead of regular salt. It will give a slightly tangy flavor.
Tips To Make Better Air Fryer Potato Tots
1. After preheating the air fryer, spay a little bit of cooking oil on the basket. It will prevent the tater tots from sticking at the basket. This step is not crucial. But a little bit of safety is not harmful, right?
2. Try to serve the tater tots immediately after airfrying. They are most crispy just after frying.
3. Tater tots can be served in numerous ways. You can add a few drops of lime juice while serving to add a tanginess. Or a pinch of roasted cumin powder can be great to add a bit of Indian touch. To make it spicier you can toss the tater tots with ¼ teaspoon of chili flacks.
